I’d love feedback on the pokemon team I’m currently putting together:

Houndoom
- Crunch
- Flamethrower
- Hyper Beam (I’m thinking of replacing this with something else. Suggestions welcome)
- Shadow Ball

Steelix
- Dig
- Iron Tail
- Stone Edge
- Crunch

Breloom
- Sludge Bomb
- Seed Bomb
- Sky Uppercut
- Headbutt

Flygon
- Dragon Claw
- Earthquake
- Fly
- Steel Wing

Scyther
- Razor Wind
- X Scissor
- Air Slash
- Night Slash

Lapras
- Thunderbolt
- Body Slam
- Surf
- Ice Beam

It’d be awesome if you could give me tips and suggestions as to how I can improve this team =)

Hi there :)

I have rated your team and have some pointers to make out to you.

For your houndoom? what is it? a mixed attacker? well first off, i wouldnt recommend to use mix attacking pokemon, just stick with either special or physical attacks, but meh, whatever you want. i would recommend replacing crunch with sucker punch because of sucker punch being a +1 prody move (meaning, its sortoff like quickattack) and houndoom already has average speed, or just replace hyper beam with suckerpunch.

Steelix, first off, replace dig with earthquake right away. if your in dig mode, then your enemy, when he uses earthquake of his own, which he will most likely will, you will take 2x damage and steelix is already weak to ground D:

Breloom seems fine, try to fit room for spore in it.

Flygon, replace steel wing with dragon dance if you can. That will give you the extra firepower you need to sweep with it.

Scyther, evolve it and replace razor wind with bullet punch, that will give you a +1 prody move.

Lapras, boltbeam, nice job

Overall, i would tell you to watch out for pesky ice beamers and earthquakers which will tear up your team until a new tommorrow(and are quite common). Also, your lacking a good Lead pokemon and stallers, so look into replace some of your pokemon with pokemon like umbreon, bronzong, etc. Your also lacking a stealth rock setter, but if your not playing comp and just ingame, then dont worry.

If you need a staller, then heres a good moveset, im not going to list the EVs because apprently from what i just saw, you do not EV train(but its 252HP,136SPdef, 120def if you need it), but it still be good in game, but it can only be used ingame for several reasons, namely the evasion clause. This umbreon has won me several battle fronteir bosses.

Umbreon
Nature-bold
Moveset- Double team
-Toxic
-Wish/moonlight(wish is an egg move, hard to get, but moonlight has less PP)
-Baton pass (eevee learns it at around lvl 36)

Heres how you use this stalling Umbreon. Start double teaming, then toxic and keep double teaming. With its nice defense, it will shrug of most attacks not named bug or fight and with that high evasion from double team, it will be hard to beat especelly with wish or moonlight. If you face an iron, poison, or trouble, just double team til you max, and baton pass to another pokemon of your choice, the evasion will also be passed as well, use it wisely.

Hope this helps :)

Here’s a link to Obama’s energy plan: http://www.barackobama.com/pdf/factsheet_energy_speech_080308.pdf

Here’s what I think:

Whilst I am sure Obama wants CLEAN, SAFE energy,
I am far from certain the people are going to get it.

There is no such thing as "safe nuclear power…"

Obama should offer incentives to industry so they develop handy, efficient alternative energy production and storage kits, using a wise combination of solar (especially for hot countries) (round cells / collectors embedded in roofs, walls… not panels) (note: solar work on day-light), wind (i.e. mini-turbines, with paddles, not blades), and water power (EG. water wheels fitted in mains pipes) – there is plenty of profit to be made selling these and the savings made by not investing in a new grid will more than cover incentive payments.

This way, domestic and business users will be self-sufficient and the USA will have Energy Security i.e. nobody will suffer power cuts
EG. during ice storms, flooding…

Investment in solar technology really needs to be stepped up hugely.
If we find the perfect way to a) create light b) use photons to generate electricity c) store that power – all our transport needs will be solved.

That energy source could also take us to Mars and beyond.
So instead of politicians concentrating on how to keep fossil-fuel suppliers in the money, and protecting that, whilst ignoring market needs, Obama should prepare the USA
(and the rest of the world)
for the new generation of transport which does not require the carrying of flammable / explosive fuel, which is very heavy…

E.F.Hutton: I strongly disagree with your answer. We do get electricity from light – that is how solar works.
And I repeat, nuclear power is NOT safe. "If the public knew the facts and if they were allowed to chose between nuclear power stations and candles, they would chose candles."

I really disagree with the above poster. It’s always productive to search and try new methods to solving our problems. It’s how science works. We may invest a great deal of time and effort into a single promising approach only to have it fail in the end. But then we’d know more and can better prepare a new one.

My only complaint is that Obama seems determined for our renewable energy sources to be developed here. There are actually two very promising energy plans being done in the UK and Canada atm. One involves tides and the other man made tornadoes. It made not be made in America but good ideas are good ideas regardless of where they come from.

Fuels for cars do need to be reliable and rather set as they require massive amounts of infrastructure. But what the above poster fails at realizing is that what is needed is a better way to produce electricity. If we can do that in a cleaner fashion it’s much easier to make use of cars that can use existing and proven technology.

I am renting an SUV to go camping, I’d like to use a solar power kit (as used on RV’s or boats) with an inverter to run lights, fans recharge batteries etc.

Is a large SUV battery (78amp Hr 750CCA battery) comparable to a deep cycle battery found on an RV or boat?

Thanks

Deep cycle batteries are constructed differently from batteries used to start vehicles. The SUV battery you mention is probably designed to deliver large current for a short time (i.e. starting the engine) whereas a deep cycle battery is designed to provide less current but over a very long period of time (almost to the point of discharge). If you use a starter battery as a deep cycle battery it may not last long due to the lead plates deteriorating.

It has been pretty cold here, and I don’t drive my car very often right now- like once a week. Due to the temperature, the car’s battery does not have enough charge to start the powerplant after a week. I have seen solar battery maintainers on the internet, but can I make one myself? I have a small solar panel that is 1.83V and 500mA. I also have an old car cellphone charger with two wires. Is there any way I can use the solar panel connected to the charger, plugged into my DC port in the car?

To keep a fully charged battery fully charged, you’d need at least 300ma at 13 volts.

Does the direction of the wind determine any temperature difference on land??
I know how coastal areas are more windy due to air pressure than inland areas etc etc
But does the direction of the wind change anything??
It’s for my geog GCSE C/W Any help needed =]

x-x-x

What I remember from a meteorology course was that wind is one part of how warm one place is vs another. The geographic features contribute a great deal. Mountains prevent the prevailing winds from getting moisture over the Rockies and onto the Southwestern desert areas.

Jet streams are involved with moving air masses around. When the wind changes direction it’s because air masses are being influenced by all the things I already mentioned.

no kits are aloud and we can only use solar, water or steam ,wind ,rubber bands, potato, lemon , bakin soda, vinager
