I’m really not getting how to solve bigger r*t=d problems. Here’s an example from my homework.

Flying with the wind, a plane travels 1200 nautical miles in 4 hours. Flying against the wind, it travels 500 nautical miles in 2 hours. What is the speed of the plane in still air and the wind?

Let x=the speed of the plane in still air
Let y=The speed of the wind.

Can you solve and explain how exactly you solved? I have nine more of these to do, and I could really use some help.

flying wid the wind effective speed will be x+y. speed is distance travelled divided by time taken. so x+y is 300miles/hr. effective speed flying against the wind is x-y. so x-y will be 250 miles/hr. now solve these 2 equations in x and y to get their values. from 1st equation x=300-y. put this value of x in 2nd equation to get answer.
x=275 miles/hour
y= 25 miles/hour

How many watts will a panel i want to create with 36cells withe the following specifications emit?
Average Power (Watts): 1.8 W
Average Current (Amps): 3.6 Amps
Average Voltage (Volts): 0.5 V
Its making some sense.
So this is true also
0.5V*36Cells*3.6W per cell = 64.8 Watts? (series)

Watts add up. If one cell can produce 1.8 W, then thirty six cells can produce 36×1.8 W.
Volts add up for cells that are wired in series. Amps add up for cells that are wired in parallel. If you put all of the cells in series, then you’ll get 36×0.5 V, at 3.6 A. Etc.

Costs and availability of components

Domestic wind turbines do not costs thousands of dollars to be installed. In fact, you can have a DIY windmill for less than $200. This is possible because many of the components needed are available now at your local hardware store or on the internet. What you really need is a step-by-step guide to help you build your first wind power system.

Is your house suitable for wind power system?

If you have land space of an acre or more, it is perfect for such systems where you can install bigger wind blades for increased power generation. But as I mentioned, you can still install smaller ones on rooftops.

The availability of wind, obviously, and wind speed is crucial for efficient power generation. You can find out the wind speed in your area by doing a quick search on Google. Generally, a wind speed of 10 miles an hour or more is sufficient.
