Have anyone tried the Green DIY Energy guide? I want to build my own solar panels and just wonder if the GreenDIYEnergy guide can really teach you how to do it by your own.

The solar panels you make don’t last very long, but they’re cheap to make. If you don’t want to go through all that trouble making solar panels, you should just buy some solar panels.

Here in the UK there are many people using wind powered generators or converted water wheels to generate their own electricity. They sell excess electricity to the national grid. Some communities are making a lot of money out of it.
Scam? I think not.

I want to buy the guild but I worry it might be a scam. But it only cost $49, so I would say go for it. It has to have some useful information in it.
The Green DIY Energy guide is not in my library network. I’m not sure if it is online used.

No idea about this guide BUT before you spend money check out all the free sources of information on the internet.

You don`t need a guide. Go to e-bay, buy some solar cells and then just solder them together. It`s so basic for goodness sake. There is like a 10 min video on YouTube on how to do it. Your library is more likely to provide you with trustworthy sources than some random book on the net. Look for “The Renewable Energy Handbook“ by William H. Kemp. It is a very good book and it has lots of info on solar PV, batteries, inverters etc.
To make solar panels you just need to solder the cells together. Look at the cell ratings.
The top of the cell is the negative (-) and the back is the positive (+).
Solder the tabbing wire to the negative of one cell to the positive of the second cell. On the back, solder it only to the small pieces of metal. On the front, solder it to the two thicker strips of metal. Do this until you reach the desired voltage. Once you make a few groups of cells of the desired voltage, connect the (+) to the (+) of each group and the (-) to the (-) of each group with the bus wire. The bus wire is like the tabbing wire, only it is bigger.
Encase your solar panel in something that lets sun in. Don`t break the cells.
When connecting the (+) to the (-) you increase the voltage. You add the voltage of the first cell to the second cell. When you connect the two same (+ and + , – and -) you increase the aperage.
Inverters usually come with transformers which increase the voltage.
Never trust books sold on the internet. It is safer to go to the bookstore and look there.

My husband bought the Green DIY Energy guide last week and yesterday we started to build the solar panels for our home. Well, it’s a very comprehensive and easy to follow guide and I won’t say that it’s a scam. I didn’t try other DIY solar panels guides so I can’t compare the Green DIY energy guide to others, anyway we found this guide to be very useful for us.
