there are grants in … there are grants in usa to help you pay for things like that, and tax credits. if you do it how the local elec company tells you to. if you are NOT connected to the grid, then you can do whatever you want.
Dude I see wind … Dude I see wind energy in action every day. It is not in development any more it is a fact, it is here and it works, green or not it plain works. The generators can not store power and only produce when the wind is blowing (which is all the time here in West Texas). Oh by the way, every morning I feed the Drillers on the way to the rig and we are still drilling for oil.
IC I thought it was … IC I thought it was just plain illegal, I have a small home brew went turbine that charges a bank on batteries for my ham, I thought that would be illegal based on the vid. Thanks for clarification.
it is illegal, IF … it is illegal, IF you connect it to your house while your house is connected to the grid, because you can kill workers DUH, unless its approved by elec company
Hey, check out my … Hey, check out my website at ScientificallyGreener(Dot) com and get all the new and improved Equipments to build or buy your own solar panels and wind energy turbine systems ScientificallyGreener(Dot) com is a website that sells the most modern environmental products available
In U.S. it’s … In U.S. it’s illegal to hook ANY kind of generator (wind, solar, gas) to power company grid UNLESS it’s UL approved, AND installation approved by local inspector so you don’t kill yourself or power company’s techs working on the line. I would think it’s the same in Canada. Doesn’t mean you can’t(or shouldn’t) power your own utilities after you disconnect them from power company hookup. Just don’t fry yourself or burn your house down. Plant a few “Jamaican Tomatoes” as well. Northern Lights?
that looks like a … that looks like a homemade coil alternator. it’s nice. please post some video of the design. PS that’s also why it’s illegal. NO CSA approval. It would be illegal in every province. And local electrical code would require you to jump through a lot of hoops to use that power , i face the same dilema with my homegrown wind turbine.

So batteries are totally ‘green’ and require no maintenance? last time I checked a car battery was expensive and didn’t last – windmills need HUGE batteries to back them up. we can’t harnass wind on a large scale because it takes SO MUCH wind to make energy. It might work for a small part of a small house in a windy place, but to harnass and transport wind energy on a lar just doesn’t work….we need to drill until we figure it outge scale
Umm… I don’t know … Umm… I don’t know if you have heard but, there are these things called batteries and they can actually “store” energy. Pretty cool huh?
What you have to do … What you have to do is use the windmill to charge a bank of batteries to store the power. How many batteries depends on how much power you need to run the house.
