Hi I am putting a together a computer for my friend and this is everything i have,From my knowledge everything here is compatible but just to make such i need another opinion. Also is there anything missing here that i would need to buy such as cables that wouldn’t come with any of it? Lastly, is their anything i should know about installing all of it, like is their and specific steps besides the commons ones. thanks I am getting everything from newegg by the way.

It looks great! I envy your friend. It is a simple, powerful but relatively inexpensive gaming machine. If you are planning to install Windows 7 and you are unsure whether to obtain the 32bit or 64bit version, I suggest you consult the following website: http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/common-windows-7-compatibility-issues/ . Your hardware should be compatible to either but what about the software? You will probably have to buy a HDMI cable as they are not usually shipped with a monitor. You may need additional SATA cables. I don’t see any input devices such as keyboard, mouse, etc but whenever possible, try using the wireless type. If you order the monitor from Newegg, I suggest you check the monitor immediately upon arrival for dead pixels.
I hope your friend will appreciate the effort, care and consideration you are putting into this system.

You may have heard that by building a homemade wind generator you can save yourself quite a bit of money. I remember when I learned I could I was pretty happy, but I was also worried that it might be a little too technical for me.

You see, I’m not the most handy guy in the world. I can do basic repairs around the house and change the oil in a car, but building a wind generator seemed to be beyond my technical abilities.

I decided that I needed help with this project and purchased a set of plans. They were literally a god send! I could see from the pictures and drawings that it wasn’t as hard as I thought.

To start out with you’re going to need to build your blades. If you’re on a tight budget (like I was) you can use PVC for the blades. Once you have some extra money I highly recommend buying a set of aluminum or stainless steel blades because the amount of power you produce will go way up.

To make PVC blades all you really need to do is is cut a blade shape. Each pipe can make three blades… which is exactly how many you need.

After the blades are cut it’s time to make the body. I used a piece of 2″ x 4″ that was 16″ long. I mounted the motor on the from with steel strapping. Another, larger diameter piece of PVC was used to make the housing. This was screwed on to the 2″ x 4″. The purpose of the housing is simply to protect your motor from getting wet.

Now it was time to make the tail. For this I used a piece of plexiglass cut into a triangle shape and some wood dowel. This was attached to the body and I was ready to balance the blades.

You’ll need to connect the blades to your hub and mount that on your motor so you can balance the blades. If you don’t balance them there’s a high risk that one of them will break.

Balancing the blades is simply a matter of spinning them and marking down which one ends up on the bottom. Remove a little bit from that blade and repeat the process until the blade on the bottom is pretty random.

After setting the tower up it was time to get the wind generator up on top of the tower so I could start producing electricity.

A few hours later the wind started blowing and the blades starting turning! I was extremely happy with my homemade wind generator. It wasn’t difficult to build yet it saved me 30% of my electric bill in the first month.

Take advantage of the 30% federal Tax Rebate before it is gone! By doing this project alongs side my other project (my DIY Geothermal Heating and Cooling System using a heat pump AC unit) I was able to pay for BOTH projects with my tax return!!

This video is a suggestion… a starting point for you to DO LOADS OF RESEARCH before attempting to create such a project. I spent a couple months looking at diagrams and schematics on Google Images before attempting either of my projects. Unless you are a trained professional (who should ALWAYS be the one to install any grid tied system!) you should read untill you feel comfortable with the materials, then make your decision.

ALWAYS secure all applicable permits and approvals from appropriate government departments and utility companies BEFORE starting any project to reduce loss of $$$. Permits and approvals required by my local gov’t were ‘Board of Zoning’ for a zoning variance for its unique placement, and ‘Building Inspections’ for an electrical and mechanical inspection. After verifying that I adhered to all NEC codes, my utility company made a final inspection and approved interconnection!!

Now I am waiting for the contract I have to sing in quadruplicate. Hooray for government nightmares!

This homemade induction generator is made by spinning an old induction motor in the same direction it spun as a motor. Take the output of the motor and run it through a bank of motor run capacitors (not motor start capacitors) my bank of capacitors equals 230mF of capacitance. The capacitors excite the winding causing the motor to generate AC power. My power then runs from the capacitors to my fuse box where it is ran to my outlets and to my cooling fans.
