Survival items on the Moon?

ok in science we started our astronomy unit and we were given an extra credit assignment that is optional. if someone could help me out that would be great. ok so the items are… box of matches, food concentrate, 50 ft of nylon rope, parachute silk, solar portable heating unit, two .45 caliber pistols, one case of dehydrated milk, two 100 pound pound tanks of oxygen, stellar map (moons surface), self inflating life raft, magnetic compass, 5 gallons of water, signal flares, first aid kit containing injection needle, and a solar powered FM reciever transmitter. what would you order them as in order from most important to least important but i donj’t reasons why THANKS!!!!!!!!!

take your visa card. for some reason i have yet to figure out, nobody on teh moon takes american express.

the nightlife is terrible. there is no atmosphere.

    oxygen
    water
    milk
    first aid
    FM reciever transmitter
    portable heating unit
    life raft
    flares
    map
    rope
    parachute
    compass

i cant help but say this:
the compass would be useless because much of the moons surface has iron deposites
and because the moon has no ozone, it has no electromagnetic field
    thus no north and south

    thus, compass is junk

this is usually an experiment in working in a group. there is no right answer. it should be compared with other answers and scores are tallied on what objects are the most popular within the whole group.

or the teach could have disaster events set to knock out items that where normally expected to function properly. (trick question type stuff)

but I have found some questions that I find interesting…….

on the moon, one would need a space suit so they wouldn’t die.
without the option of a suit, isn’t all of this useless?

whats food concentrate and how much?
parachute silk? is this a sheet of silk?
do the pistols have ammo and how much?
do mouth pieces come with the tanks of oxygen?
what chemicals or action is used to inflate the life raft and how big is it?

first aid kits don’t include solutions that would go into the needle

but if you wanted my opinion about pieces I’d keep.

    oxygen
    FM transceiver
    water
    food concentrate
    milk
    heating unit
    map
    pistols
    silk
    rope
    first aid kit
    flares
    matches
    compass

(the compass IS useless, it would actually get you quite lost without a map. but funny guy up there there said it was because of iron deposits and the lack of an atmosphere that the moon doesn’t have a magnetic field. this couldn’t be further from the truth….. its because the moon doesn’t have a hot, molten core anymore. )

I don’t like the idea of the first aid kit and needle…. again, the needle is useless. and every first aid kit I’ve seen had….well, nothing but band-aids. They were never complete and never really included anything that would save my life………. the only thing useful might be guase but the silk could act as the same.

if it was an Xray machine, blood scanner and a pharmacy in a box, then maybe it would be in the TOP 5

the fm tranciever is almost the MOST important thing since it would be my only way of communicating to a possible help ship.
