I know it’s fictional, but just for the fun of it, tell me what you’d change?
My ideal zombie setup.
First of all, I want a 12 gauge pump and loads of buckshot. Buckshot because it spreads, and you don’t really need to take much time to aim. Also, a 12 gauge pump because it reloads quickly and holds a high capacity of ammo. Next, you want a high power rifle, preferably a 30.06 because it’s availability of ammo, and it’s power, and accuracy. You keep this at your base for defending your base from long distance threats. Next, you want sidearms. These are to carry around whenever. Just incase you don’t have time to reload, or using a larger weapon is just inefficient. Personally, I’d carry a .380 caliber semi automatic pistol, because it’s high bullet capacity, light weight, accuracy, and reliability. But, you want two sidearms. Next, I’d carry a revolver. Because they are very reliable, easy to care for, and never jam. I’d want a .357 magnum, sheerly for it’s massive firepower. Next, an assault rifle. You carry this around whenever you need to move out of your base to get supplies, meet up with someone, etc. it needs to be efficient for close range, as well as medium, or even long range. I would want an AR-15 assault rifle, for its durability, accuracy, and 45 round clip. Next, your choice of blunt weapon. These are not used unless needed, as they are dangerous because you need to be very close. Id like to use a t-ball bat, because they’re very small, easy to swing, and you can even carry two.
As for my choice of mobility, id use a sports motorcycle, such as a ninja 250, or similar. I’d choose this because you don’t need to refuel often, (as gasoline will be very sparse) it’s ability to accelerate very quickly, and its mobility. You cant drive a hummer through a highway where cars are blocking half the street. I’d always have a ciphening line along with me, to take gas from other vehicles.
Next, your base. Like many people think, going to a mall, or a large store is a BAD IDEA. A. its highly populated, zombies will already be there. B. many ground levels windows and doors, too many places to block. If possible, go to an ocean, or large lake, on a boat.
Next, your emergency kit. A few things in this category are:
Water (1 gallon per person per day)
Food (stock up on non-perishable items that you eat regularly)
Medications (this includes prescription and non-prescription meds)
Tools and Supplies (utility knife, duct tape, battery powered radio, etc.)
Sanitation and Hygiene (household bleach, soap, towels, etc.)
Clothing and Bedding (a change of clothes for each family member and blankets)
Important documents (copies of your driver’s license, passport, and birth certificate to name a few)
First Aid supplies (although you’re a goner if a zombie bites you, you can use these to treat basic cuts and lacerations that you might get.)
You want to quickly cover all cuts and open wounds, because if the infection is viral, they don’t have to bite you. If blood from a zombie that just got shot gets into your wound, you might as well of been bitten.
More supplies-
50 waterproofed matches and striker, as electricity and most other power sources will be gone within a few days.
A flint and striker.
1 Case of 3,600 Calorie Survival bars.- very useful.
This is the beginning of it, i plan to add more.
The flamethrowers actually not a good idea i thought. because a zombie has to be killed by the brain, and how long does it take a flame to reach thier brain? If there is anything worse than a zombie, it’s a zombie on fire chasing you. and, are walmart windows shatterproof? and, i think many people would go to places like walmart. stock up on canned foods, water, etc. it’d be too crowded i think.
I dont think that the boat is a good idea. The large store (walmart) is a risk but a good one. It has all the supplies you will ever need and barricading the doors is as simple as turning on the lock switch. The windows and doors are shatterproof as well causing the zombies to be incapable of getting in and who is going to go shopping when the news is talking about a zombie apocalypse, but, if you are going to go to water a big risk is almost necessary. If you could take a tanker or a cruise ship then you are all set. Those places are bound to have zombies surrounding them though. The huge ship will be great for all the possible survivors you will encounter and it can hold many supplies and probably has supplies already on them.
Yes walmart windows are shatterproof. Not many people would be around any longer. There would also be plenty of food for at least 25-50 people.

It’s pretty good how it is. There is one thing I would add, a unicorn. Zombies are their natural prey.

hmm, that’s quite a good idea. count me in! all we need left is some makeup to disguise ourselves between those zombies just in case they did manage to get to us

All you need is a flamethrower and lots of fuel for it. Burn them down to the ground before they can kill more people and make them zombies.
